Microstart
The Microstart manufactured to BSEN 60947-4-2 is designed to control three phase AC Motors with nominal loads up to 25 amps. The controller switches 2 phases with the 3rd continuously connected. Initial torque is adjustable as well as independent user adjustment of Ramp up and Ramp down.
Single Phase
The Single Phase Soft Start manufactured to BSEN 60947-4-2 is designed to control single phase motors with nominal current up to 25A. Initial torque is adjustable as well as ramp time. Overload protection is not provided in the controller and must therefore be installed separately. The controller is designed to remain in circuit.
Three Phase
The Microstart manufactured to BSEN 60947-4-2 is designed to control three phase AC Motors with nominal loads up to 25 amps. The controller switches 2 phases with the 3rd continuously connected. Initial torque is adjustable as well as independent user adjustments of Ramp up and Ramp down. Overload protection is not provided in the controller and must, therefore, be installed separately. Controller is internally bypassed.
Enclosed Units
The Single Phase Soft Start and 3 Phase Soft Start can be supplied in an IP65 enclosure, which is ideal for applications where an existing direct-on line starter exists. IP65 protection means that these units can be retrofitted to standard outdoor air conditioning packages and interfaced with the existing starter easily.
Amp Ramp
The Amp Ramp is a simple cost-effective Soft Start for motors up to 110kW. It uses two back-to-back semiconductor devices in each phase to control the current applied to the motor, ensuring the smoothest start possible.
Current Control
Unlike conventional Soft Starts, which are voltage controlled, the Amp Ramp operates by continually monitoring and controlling the motor current, providing torque during startup. The Amp Ramp is compact and easy to install, thus maximising panel space. Its competitive pricing extends the use of Soft Start to new applications.
Flexible Soft Start
Pedestal current sets initial current, which provides torque. This is adjustable from 50-500% of FLC. Ramp Up sets the desired acceleration time for the motor, which is adjustable from 1- 30 seconds. Current Limit holds current ramp once a preset level is reached, being adjustable from 100-500% of FLC. The current falls to normal load once the motor is up to full speed.
Softdrive 200
The Softdrive 200 is a simple cost effective Soft Start for motors up to 110 kW. Two ranges allow the user to choose between a basic product and a more advanced product with motor protection built in. Both ranges have internal bypass switching as standard, resulting in compact sizing.
Cost Effective Soft Starter for Motors up to 110kW
- Short circuit ratings are in accordance with IEC60947
- High speed fuses are used to protect against short circuit
- Soft Starts are therefore available with type 2 co-ordination, utilising the fuses listed at the bottom of this page
Softdrive 300
The Softdrive 300 is a compact multifunctional Soft Start, using the latest digital technology to provide the smoothest start for the standard three phase squirrel-cage induction motor up to 800kW at 400V.
Latest Digital Technology
Softdrive 300 is mechanically protected to IP20 with a simple keypad with LCD display in a multi language format and pushbuttons for setting up.
The parameters are adjustable on a two menu format. The first menu is for standard parameters commonly adjusted by the end user with a second menu for parameters not as commonly used.
The LCD keypad is mounted on the module with an option available which provides a blanking plate and screened ribbon cable to allow mounting of a complete keypad on the panel door.
Communications are available on RS422 via a user friendly set up disk for PC’s or alternatively PROFIBUS and/or DeviceNet are available by the addition of a communications card to the standard assemblies.
